The Faulk County Cancer Support Group (FCCSG) was formed in 2007 by a group of FAMC Employees who saw the need to have a local resource and support for individuals and caregivers who are dealing with cancer or other similar medical situations. The motto of the FCCSG is “I am Strong” and we encourage participants to take charge, but not be afraid to ask for help. The mission of the FCCSG is to help people affected directly or indirectly with all forms of cancer or similar medical situations enhance their health and well-being through participation in a program of emotional and financial support, education, and hope. Over the years, the FCCSG has sponsored cancer awareness events, support group meetings, and offered financial assistance to over 120 individuals in our local and surrounding communities. The FCCSG is supported solely by donations and fundraising efforts. Due to COVID, we no longer host in-person meetings, but we are still an active part of the Faulkton Community. To obtain FCCSG services, a referral must be made. This referral can be made by the patient, family members or caregiver. Once a referral is received, April Sorensen will contact the individual to determine how the FCCSG can help. Most commonly, we give gas or grocery cards, but we also have knowledge of other resources that may be beneficial.

If you know someone who could benefit from the FCCSG, please contact April Sorensen, Rita Hanten, or Kelly Ortmeier to make a referral. 605-598-6262 april.sorensen@faulktonmedical.org
